Sukoharjo -- SOLO, Tuesday, June 21, 2022 — Cinema XXI, the largest cinema group in Indonesia, is riding the moment of the school holidays to hold one of its CSR programs. After being unable to carry out any of them in the past two years due to the unconducive conditions of the pandemic, Cinema XXI held a Satria Dewa: Gatotkaca movie screening with Satria Dewa Studio and Agus Widanarko (Danar), a Sukoharjo-based anti-drug activist who has been active in entertaining children impacted by COVID-19 especially those who lost their parents due to the pandemic. The event took place at Studio 5, The Park XXI, Sukoharjo, Solo, Central Java.
Dewinta Hutagaol, Head of Corporate Communications and Brand Management Cinema XXI, stated, “As part of the Indonesian film ecosystem, we are committed to promoting a culture of pride in watching Indonesian films in cinemas as a way of appreciating the work of local filmmakers. Therefore, we collaborate with various stakeholders to organize a movie screening. On this occasion, we are working with Satria Dewa Studio to organize a movie screening for Satria Dewa: Gatotkaca."
Satria Dewa: Gatotkaca is the first of the eight Satria Dewa Semesta superhero film series. The action film takes inspiration from the history of Indonesian puppet or wayang. “We certainly appreciate the initiative from Cinema XXI. To make the movie screening atmosphere even more lively, we also provide special Gatotkaca merchandise for the participants. We hope that with this activity, our movie can entertain participants and introduce a row of Indonesian superheroes based on Indonesian wayang characters who promote values that are applicable in our daily life,” said Mochtar Sarman, VP of Operations Satria Dewa Studio.
Danar, an anti-drug activist and a philanthropic figure, actively dedicates his time and energy to providing entertainment for children affected by COVID-19. One of Danar’s initiatives is to deliver storytelling in a superhero costume, by which he is also known among children as Super Isoman. “I am pleased about this collaboration. Apart from being able to introduce Indonesian superheroes, I hope to foster a sense of love for Indonesian superheroes. As a Super Isoman, I am honored to have the opportunity to wear Gatotkaca costume on this occasion,” said Danar.
Muhamad Fakhri (6 years old), one of the participants, said, “I had a great time watching Gatotkaca with my friends. We were also given wings and crowns, as if we’re the real Gatotkaca!”
Having been part of the Indonesian film ecosystem for more than 30 years, Cinema XXI has presented 1,213 screens in 225 cinema locations spread across Indonesia. "This initiative is one of our ways to realize our commitment in providing the best movie-viewing experience for Indonesians.
