Surakarta, December 20, 2022 — favehotel Solo (Manahan Solo and Solo Baru) held a mutual cooperation for Tegar movie screening (Gobar Film Tegar) with The Park XXI Solo and Aksa Bumi Langit, which is Tegar's Production House. The event took place on December 20, 2022 and was participated by 30 children from Anak Mandiri Orphanage.
“Bringing the theme of Amazing Christmas, this year’s Christmas provides a chance for us to share joy with orphans, and we hope that it will be a wonderful, unforgettable Christmas for them,” said Khuswatus Solikhin, Cluster Hotel Manager of favehotel Solo (Manahan Solo and Solo Baru).
The movie screening started at 10 AM Western Indonesia Time at The Park XXI Solo. Following the movie screening, participants were led to the Rosemary meeting room of favehotel Solo Baru for lunch prepared by Aris Sasongko, Executive Chef of favehotel Solo, while enjoying a magic show performed by Cazzo.
“Cinema XXI is certainly pleased to have the chance to share joy and facilitate these children to watch at our cinema during this Christmas season. We hope that this movie screening not only entertains but also motivates them to keep pursuing their dreams despite facing challenges and limitations,” said Dewinta Hutagaol, Head of Corporate Communications and Brand Management, Cinema XXI.
She added that this movie screening goes in line with Cinema XXI’s commitment to provide the ultimate movie experience affordable to all Indonesian movie-goers. For more than 35 years, Cinema XXI has served not only as a place to watch movies, but also as a second home to spend quality time with family and friends. As of November 2022, Cinema XXI had 1,215 screens at 225 locations spread across Indonesia.
The producer of Tegar, Anggi Frisca, said that Tegar is a family film that invites people to learn about equal rights and the role of support system within a family. The film is based on true stories from the lives of several people with disabilities. Their struggles in gaining education and equal rights as God’s creation are hoped to inspire people to respect and support each other. Anggi also said that the film aims to encourage Indonesians who have family members with disabilities.
dr. Chandra Sembiring, as the film producer, believed that Tegar should be a symbol of equality for people with disabilities. “We shouldn’t be ashamed anymore, or hide our siblings or children with disabilities. Within their limitations, lies an infinite potential. Tegar has proven it. He is a regular child whom we supported for two years to be the main actor in his own film. Tegar was also awarded Best Actor at the Balimakarya Film Festival, and Best Young Actor at the Cannes World Film Festival,” Chandra, who also works as a doctor concluded.
Part of the event also included a donut decorating competition, which aimed to hone the children’s creativity and teamwork. They are divided into 3 teams for the competition. All of them enthusiastically worked together to make an interesting decoration. Today, the children of Anak Mandiri Orphanage were smiling happily throughout the series of activities.
