Jakarta, July 28, 2025 – PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk (Cinema XXI, stock code: CNMA) recorded revenue of IDR2.8 trillion with a net profit of IDR324 billion in Semester I 2025. The company also recorded an EBITDA of IDR842.4 billion, reflecting stable performance amidst a dynamic economic situation.
Cinema XXI President Director Suryo Suherman stated that the positive performance achievement during Semester I 2025 is a result of a solid business foundation and the company's measured and consistent strategy. This achievement is also supported by the company's efforts to optimize business strategies, focusing on improving movie screening services and expanding into various regions in Indonesia. "The company's performance stability is a result of the effective implementation of targeted and adaptive strategies to industry dynamics, as well as the consistent and sustainable strengthening of the operational network," said Suryo.
The performance in the first semester of 2025 was driven by a total admissions of 42.5 million, where the total admissions in the second quarter more than doubled from the total admissions in the first quarter. This increase was supported by the Eid holiday momentum and audience enthusiasm for box office movies, both national and international.
The positive trend of national film performance, which continued in the first semester of 2025, also played a positive role for Cinema XXI. This is reflected in the contribution of national movies, which reached more than 65% of the total admissions in the first semester of 2025. "As the largest cinema network in Indonesia, we are proud to be part of the ecosystem that supports the progress of Indonesian cinema," Suryo continued.
Based on data published by filmindonesia.or.id, 9 national movies attracted more than 1 million viewers in Semester I 2025 across all cinema networks in Indonesia. The three national movies with the most viewers during this period include Jumbo, which set a record as the highest-grossing Indonesian movies of all time with 10,197,790 viewers, Pabrik Gula (4,726,760), and Petaka Gunung Gede (3,242,843) .
Suryo added that the increasing preference among consumers for high-quality entertainment played a key role in boosting Cinema XXI's performance. "For that, we are grateful that Cinema XXI remains the public's primary choice for enjoying quality entertainment. This trust motivates us to continue delivering the best viewing experience on every Cinema XXI screen," Suryo added.
Cinema XXI's revenue streams remain anchored by its two main business pillars: cinema ticket sales, which comprise 62.4% of total revenue, and food and beverage sales, contributing 33.6%. Suryo stated that in the first Semester of 2025, there was an increase in food product sales. This was seen in the average spend per head (SPH) for food and beverages (F&B) increased to approximately IDR25,000, compared to around IDR23,000 in the first Semester of 2024. "This increase in SPH is an important indicator that audience interest in our F&B products continues to grow healthily," Suryo explained.
Amidst the positive performance achievements in the second quarter of 2025, the Company again paid a final dividend for the 2024 financial year of IDR4 per share, equivalent to a total payment of IDR333 billion. Previously, the company had also paid an interim dividend of IDR5 per share in November 2024, bringing the total dividend paid to IDR9 per share, equivalent to a 103% dividend payout ratio for the 2024 financial year. "Dividend distribution is a form of the company's commitment to provide added value to shareholders while maintaining a healthy financial position and sustainable company growth," Suryo concluded.
