Cinema XXI Announces IDR666.76 Billion Dividend and Allocates Capital Expenditures of IDR775 Billion to Add 100 Cinema Screens by 2024.

Jakarta, April 2, 2024 – PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk (Cinema XXI, stock code: CNMA) held its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) for the 2023 fiscal year on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in Jakarta. The shareholders approved the dividend payout of IDR667.76 billion or IDR8 per share, which is equivalent to 97% of the Company's profit attributable to owners of the Company in 2023 of IDR687.8 billion.

"The dividend payout for the 2023 fiscal year is part of our commitment to shareholders after the Company successfully conducted its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2023. Our performance throughout 2023 also highlights the Company's ability to leverage Indonesia's economic growth potential to strengthen the fundamentals and maintain a sustainable business in the long run," said Cinema XXI Corporate Secretary and Director of Finance Tri Rudy Anitio in an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (2/4/2024).

The AGMS reported the utilization of funds from Cinema XXI's Initial Public Offering (IPO), which was carried out based on the effective registration statement from the Financial Services Authority on July 25, 2023. Through the IPO, Cinema XXI raised IDR2.25 trillion, with net proceeds of IDR2.17 trillion after deducting public offering costs. By the end of December 2023, Cinema XXI had utilized IDR1.13 trillion of the IPO proceeds, leaving a balance of IDR1.05 trillion.

Furthermore, the AGMS also approved the proposal to change the Company's management structure by appointing Suryo Suherman to replace Ir. Hans Gunadi M.Sc. as the President Director and Ongki Wanadjati Dana as Acting President Commissioner to replace Suryo Suherman. The Company expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the contributions and dedication of Ir. Hans Gunadi M.Sc. and Suryo Suherman during their tenure.

The Cinema XXI AGMS also approved:

  • The Company's Annual Report and ratifying the Company's Consolidated Financial Statements for the Fiscal Year 2023 and at the same time granting full discharge and release of liability (acquit de charge) to the Board of Directors for their actions in managing the Company and to the Board of Commissioners for the implementation of company supervision in the 2023 Fiscal Year.
  • Granting the Board of Commissioners the authority to determine remuneration, such as salaries, honorariums, and allowances, for the Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners for the 2024 financial year.
  • Granting the Board of Commissioners the authority to appoint a Public Accountant and a Public Accounting Firm to audit the Company's Financial Statements for the 2024 financial year.

Solid Performance

As the largest cinema chain operator in Indonesia, Cinema XXI has established 240 cinema locations with 1,280 screens in 60 cities/regions throughout Indonesia as of December 31, 2023. This expansion also contributed to an increase in total admissions of 84.3 million in 2023, resulting in a Gross Box Office (GBO) of IDR3.5 trillion.

Throughout 2023, Cinema XXI earned revenue of IDR5.2 trillion with EBITDA of IDR1.7 trillion. In 2023, Cinema XXI's total revenue was mainly derived from cinema ticket sales at 60% and the F&B product business line at 35.4%.

Cinema XXI has prepared a capital expenditure of around IDR775 billion in 2024 to expand its business, including the establishment of new cinema locations and the addition of around 100 new screens in various cities and regions throughout Indonesia by 2024. “Cinema XXI's strategy will focus on more productive asset and liability management, developing a more diversified F&B business, and implementing ESG principles in various business lines to increase sustainable value,” added Cinema XXI Corporate Secretary and Director of Finance Tri Rudy Anitio.
